Dear Raven,
I’m keeping a permanent link to this in my files, because this really made me laugh! I can hardly think of any stories (in a life filled to overflowing with interesting stories) that started with a salad. I’ll start carefully combing through my mental archives to see if this is actually correct.
Nope. Nothing actual.
But wait (in my overactive imagination):
“Ma’am, where were you from 2:00-4:00pm Saturday afternoon?”
“At the outlet mall. Eating a salad.”
“The outlet mall doesn’t serve salads!”
“I know. I just went there to be alone.”
“Eating a salad?”
“Yep.”
“That’s ridiculous!”
“No, it isn’t. What’s ridiculous is that Souper Salad only lets you take your uneaten salad with you if its TO GO. So, I just ordered a TO GO box and stuffed that thing as full as I could. I like to get a good deal for my money, and, as everyone knows, you just can’t eat too many vegetables at once!”
“That’s very interesting, Ma’am. But where were you for the rest of the time?”
“I already told you.”
“You were at the outlet mall?”
“Yes.”
“Eating a salad? Even though the outlet mall doesn’t serve salads?”
“That’s what I’ve been trying to tell you.”
“For TWO HOURS????”
“Officer, as I was trying to tell you, IT WAS A SIMPLY HUGE SALAD.”
“Ma’am, is there something you’d like to tell me?”
“Yes. I’m hungry! Want to go to Souper Salad?”
